Governor of Pará debates communication and sustainable development in webinar
On June 2, at 2 pm, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Department of Public Policy Analysis (FGV DAPP) will hold a webinar called “Communication for Sustainable Development.” The meeting, hosted on FGV’s YouTube page, will debate challenges for the construction of environmental and sustainability agendas in Brazil in light of opportunities provided by new technologies, digital communication and the development of smart cities.
In April, the Leaders’ Summit on Climate agreed on the need to seek innovative solutions to fight climate change. The participants established ambitious targets for cutting emissions and incorporating technologies to make cities more sustainable and information spaces more democratic.
The webinar’s main talk, “Different Opinions on the Future of the Amazon’s Development,” will be given by the governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho. The event will also include a debate on “Communication and Information on the Smart Cities Agenda,” featuring the general secretary of the German Environmental Foundation, Alex Bonde; the director of FGV DAPP and FGV’s School of Communication, Marco Ruediger; the president of the Brazilian Association for Business Communication, Paulo Nassar; the fundraising director of Greenpeace Brasil, Vivian Fasca; and Repórter Brasil journalist Marcel Gomes.
