Implementation of technologies in education is subject of online event

The Center for Excellence and Innovation in Education Policies (FGV CEIPE) at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) is holding a webinar called “Lessons Learned from the Implementation of Technology in Education.” The event will take place on May 17, at 2 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The aim of the meeting is to discuss the social and technical implications of technology use in schools. Technologies are chosen in line with the need to solve problems, to generate results and to provide methods of training teachers to get the most out of tools.
Some prominent education sector officials will take part in the webinar, including André Gustavo Garbosa, the technology and innovation director at the Paraná State Education Secretariat; and Eduardo Bizzo, the manager of the Education and Culture Department at the national development bank, BNDES, FGV CEIPE’s partner institution in the School Technology Observatory (OTec).
The webinar will consist of two thematic discussions: “Human Elements in the Implementation of School Technologies” and “Technical Elements in the Implementation of School Technologies.” Lucia Dellagnelo, the CEO of the Innovation Center for Brazilian Education (CIEB); Patrícia Mota Guedes, the research and development manager at the Itaú Social Foundation; Fabio Campos, a researcher at the Transformative Learning Technologies Lab (TLTL); and Flavio Prol of MegaEdu will all speak at the event.
FGV CEIPE’s director, Claudia Costin, will make the opening and closing remarks. Ariana Britto, the center’s coordinator, will present the products to be launched this year by OTec. Yara Duque, OTec’s manager, will moderate the event.
