International event gathers representatives from management schools in Belgium

During the meeting, Dr. Raed Mohammed Ben Shams, Director-General of the Bahrain Institution of Public Administration (BIPA), was elected as the new president of the IIAS for the period between 2019 and 2022. Dr. Shams will be sworn in during the IIAS 2019 Conference to be held on June 18-21 in Lien, Singapore, featuring the theme: “Effective, Accountable, and Inclusive Governance”.

International event gathers representatives from management schools in Belgium

The International Director of FGV (International Affairs Division – DINT) and president of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), professor Bianor Cavalcanti, presided over the meetings of the Board of Management of the IASIA and actively participated as Past President and member of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Group for Public Administration (LAGPA), a regional branch of the IIAS, representing the group’s president in the institution’s board meetings held between January 29 and February 1. Featuring a more dynamic and inclusive format, the meetings were held during the Governance Week in Belgium, between January 29 and February 1.

During the meeting, Dr. Raed Mohammed Ben Shams, Director-General of the Bahrain Institution of Public Administration (BIPA), was elected as the new president of the IIAS for the period between 2019 and 2022. New proposals were made throughout the Governance Week to improve the internal processes of IASIA’s International Commission on the Accreditation of Public Administration and Training Programs (ICAPA). In addition, professor João Salis Gomes, representative of the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon, reinstated the institute’s commitment and official invitation for the 2019 IASIA Conference, to be held on July 22-26 in Lisbon, Portugal, featuring the theme: “Public Administration’s Missions and Goals for the Achievement of the SDGs”.
