International forum on public management discusses leadership

FGV’s International Director, professor Bianor Cavalcanti, presented the topic: “Leadership is public spirit – the republican virtues” at the Public Management Forum of the Federal Council of Administration (CFA). The event was held on June 6-8 in Brasilia and featured the theme “Transformative strategies in the relations between Society and the State” and gathered over 600 professionals from the fields of Administration and Public Management.

The opening lecture was given by one of today’s most original thinkers, French philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky, who presented the topic: “New roles in society’s relations with the State: society acquires new conformations and expectations regarding the role of the state. What changes in their relations?”.

The Forum also featured Geert Bouckaert, President of the International Institute of Administrative Science (IIAS), who gave a lecture on “The state of the art in global public management – What is happening in today’s world: realities and trends”. Christian Asinelli was another international guest, an Argentine public management expert who discussed the topic “The citizen in the management of the state – The State from the citizen and not the citizen from the State”.
