International Seminar brings together experts to discuss artificial intelligence
Alexandre Rademaker, professor at FGV’s School of Applied Mathematics (EMAp), and Alexandre Tessarollo, Master’s degree student, attended the seminar “Towards Artificial Intelligence for Collaborative Open Science,” an event that is part of the AAAI 2019 Spring Symposium Series. Organized by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with the Stanford University Computer Science Department, the event brought together academics and practitioners to discuss, in various aspects, issues related to the development of Artificial Intelligence technology.
Rademaker and Tessarollo presented the article “Information extraction on financial reports of the oil and gas industry: First steps” on the roundtable that discussed the application of artificial intelligence in science. The session also featured the presentation of a paper on “Accelerated discovery of sustainable building materials.”
The event also featured presentations and lecturers from institutions such as Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis, Amazon Web Services, Brown University, Code Ocean, Eindhoven University of Technology, IBM Research, Kaggle, Kyndi, MIT, Stanford University, University of California, San Francisco, University of Maryland, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of South Florida.
