Online event presents opinions of non-Brazilian economists about Brazil

The Finance and Economics Master’s Program at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) will hold a free webinar on Thursday, April 15, at 6 pm, called Macroeconomic Scenarios: Perspectives of Economists Outside Brazil. The participants will be Otaviano Canuto, a senior member of the Policy Center for the New South and former World Bank vice president; and John Welch, a Farrell Family Fellow in Economics at The King’s College, New York City, who has a PhD from the University of Illinois. The moderator will be Márcio Holland, the coordinator of the Finance and Economics Master’s Program at FGV EESP.

During the event, the speakers will also discuss the new book by Otaviano Canuto, “Climbing a High Ladder: Development in the Global Economy.” This will be the first meeting of 2021 in the MasterTalks series. This series consists of periodic conversations between the program’s coordinator, Márcio Holland, and renowned experts and private sector leaders on a variety of subjects related to finance and economics.
