Program presents financial markets’ needs and trends to Banco Safra professionals
This year, FGV In Company was chosen again to deliver part of Banco Safra’s trainee program. The first edition of the course, called “Trainee FGV – learning experience,” had a blended format, including both in-person and online classes. Thirty-one bank employees took the course between July 2016 and December 2019.
The course combined the experience and knowledge of FGV professors with the youth and eagerness to learn of the 2020 Safra Trainee Program’s participants, using an approach designed to present the financial markets’ needs and trends, as well as Banco Safra’s strategic objectives. The FGV stage consisted of an intensive and immersive program about the financial markets, aimed at preparing trainees for future career challenges. This was one of a series of development initiatives in the Safra Trainee Program.
This year, the course, coordinated by Professor Hsia Hua Sheng, was supported by some major partners, including Microsoft, which presented students with key technology trends and various new products. The Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (known as B3) showed students the workings of one of the world’s largest financial market infrastructure companies. They looked at subjects such as economics, corporate governance, products and services, interest rates and individual investors. During a visit to the Brazilian Central Bank, a federal government organization that reports to the Economy Ministry, students explored regulatory topics related to the bank’s duties and reflected on the importance and impacts of operational risk management.
