Project to promote investment fund industry is focus of webinar

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) will hold a webinar called “The relevance of the investment fund industry” on September 20, at 7 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel. The aim of the event is to discuss why funds are a fundamental investment product for Brazil’s growth and an important option for investors.

The webinar will feature BB DTVM’s asset management executive director, Marcelo Pacheco; and the coordinators of Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Finance Research Center (FGVcef), Claudia Yoshinaga and William Eid. This is the first in a series of webinars as part of the Project to Promote the Investment Fund Industry, which is sponsored by BB DTVM, Banco do Brasil’s third-party asset manager. The main goal is to share knowledge about different aspects of the industry and its products.

According to Marcelo Pacheco, the fund management industry has undergone many transformations and challenges in recent years, including the reduction of base interest rates to record levels, the pandemic’s impacts and the growth of digital platforms, for example. “We believe that financial education is extremely important for investors to understand market movements and available solutions, so they can make good choices when investing. That’s why we are supporting this project, which is so important to BB DTVM,” he says.

BB DTVM is the leading player in the Brazilian investment fund industry, with net assets under management of R$1.3 trillion and a 20.69% market share, according to Anbima’s July 2021 ranking of investment fund managers. Its fund management excellence is attested to by two major rating agencies, Fitch Rating and Moody’s.
