Recognized excellence: FGV Law courses granted OAB Recomenda seal
FGV’s Law Schools (Sao Paulo Law School (Direito SP) and Rio de Janeiro Law School (Direito Rio)) have, once again, received the “OAB Recomenda Seal of Quality – Instrument in Defense of Brazilian Legal Education”. Granted by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) on January 30, the seal attests to the quality and excellence of FGV’s undergraduate law courses, both in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. “The OAB Recomenda seal – just like in the academic, professional and regulatory fields – recognizes the excellence of Direito SP’s course, as well as the commitment of students and faculty towards legal education”, said professor Roberto Dias, Direito SP Undergraduate coordinator. The seal was created by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) in 2001 and is currently in its sixth edition. It is granted to institutions that stand out in law education, by cross-referencing the results of the National Student Performance Exam (Enade) – which has a weight of 1x – and the latest Bar Exams – which have a weight of 4x. Undergraduate courses with scores of over 7 out of 10 are granted the seal for their superior position, according to the criteria established by the OAB Recomenda Special Committee. “We are very pleased to have earned the seal for the third time in a row. Based on objective criteria, the seal attests to the quality of the School’s educational program and the performance of our students, within an environment of total dedication among Direito Rio’s faculty and students, constantly seeking excellence in legal education”, said professor Sérgio Guerra, Dean of FGV’s Direito Rio.   Photo: OAB
