Retrospective 2019: FGV EPGE among the Top 80 Economy Departments in the World
FGV’s EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (EPGE) has been listed among the top 80 Economics Departments in the world. The survey, relating to the year 2018 and prepared by Tilburg University (Netherlands), places the School in 76th position, ahead of several internationally renowned North American and European universities. The result also confirms FGV EPGE’s leadership in Latin America.
The ranking is one of the most respected in the world and lists the best Schools of Economics based on academic publications, from the analysis of a database with the main papers of the area. In addition to FGV EPGE (76th), Latin America is represented by the University of the Andes (94th), the Pontificial Catholic University of Chile, and Torcuato do Tella University (155th).
The academic excellence of FGV EPGE is also acknowledged by the General Index of Courses (IGC) of Brazil’s Ministry of Education (MEC), in which the School obtained first place nationally in the 11 evaluations carried out by MEC. The undergraduate students of the School obtained the first place nationally in the last two editions of the Examination of the National Association of the Graduate Centers in Economy (ANPEC). EPGE also ranked first in Brazil in the last ENADE examination in the field of Economics.
