Sanitation legal framework alterations and investments discussed at seminar
FGV’s Center for Regulation and Infrastructure Studies (CERI) will host the seminar titled “Changes to the Sanitation Legal Framework and its Potential to Promote New Investments in the Sector” on September 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event, which has the support of Infra2038, will be held in the auditorium of FGV’s Main Office (Praia de Botafogo, 190, 12th floor. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ) and will discuss the new legal framework and financing in the sanitation sector.
The goal of the seminar is to discuss the ability of legislative changes, which are currently being reviewed by Congress, to bring the private sector closer, in order to reduce coverage deficits and help improve the quality of sanitation services in the country.
This particular topic made it back into the spotlight due to recent proposals to amend related laws. The sanitation sector should now enter a new era characterized by the pursuit of greater legal certainty and proper regulatory governance, ultimately drawing the much needed private investments.
