Specialist discusses coronavirus’ effects on Latin American economies
On May 19, at 8 pm, FGV’s International Affairs Division (FGV DINT) will hold a webinar called “The Coronavirus’ Effects on Latin American Economies,” featuring Professor Istvan Kazsnar of the FGV´s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE).
The event, to be held in Spanish, will explore the impacts of COVID-19 on the region’s main economies. Kazsnar will discuss subjects such as growing unemployment, declining domestic output, lower investment and the latest forecasts for Latin America. He will also look at opportunities and possible contingency plans to help government officials limit the pandemic’s economic impacts on the region.
Istvan Kazsnar has a PhD in business administration from California Coast University, a master’s in economics from FGV EPGE, an undergraduate degree in public and business administration from FGV EBAPE and an undergraduate degree in economics from Rio de Janeiro Federal University. As well as being a professor at FGV EBAPE, he works as an advisor to FGV’s president. He has experience at private and public sector companies in Brazil and other countries in the areas of corporate affairs, regulation, banking, agriculture, education, research, and corporate and institutional consulting.
