Webinar debates challenges and opportunities involving purchases of goods and services from startups by state-owned enterprises
On August 11, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for Studies on Startups, Innovation, Venture Capital and Private Equity (FGVnest) will hold a webinar called “Purchases of Goods and Services from Startups by State-Owned Enterprises: Challenges and Opportunities”. The event will be broadcast live on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 10:30 am.
How are government organizations and state-owned enterprises dealing with the evolution of open innovation and purchases from startups in light of Law 8,666 of 1993? What are the main challenges (and opportunities) for public sector companies? The webinar’s goal is to explore this subject and encourage reflection among government officials, state-owned enterprises, regulatory and oversight bodies, startups, angel investors and venture capital managers.
The event will feature Rodrigo Salgado, the open innovation manager at state-owned bank Caixa Econômica Federal; Fabiana Ruas, the research and innovation director at the Federal Accounting Court; Bernardo Kruel, a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and the coordinator of the Fintechs Working Group at the CVM/IDB/ABDE Financial Innovation Laboratory; and Felipe Gelelete, the entrepreneurship and startup investment manager at the Funding Agency for Studies and Projects (FINEP). The moderator will be Caio Ramalho, FGVnest’s coordinator.
