Webinar explores portfolio allocation and performance in times of crisis

On Thursday, May 21, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) will hold a webinar on investment portfolio allocation and performance in times of crisis. The event will be broadcast live on YouTube, from 7 pm to 8 pm.

The webinar will discuss the process of constructing a portfolio aligned with each investor’s goals and preferences, which is able to withstand moments of crisis. Choosing a balanced portfolio is a critical part of the investment process. The success factors in this choice result from a blend of both technique and art. The present situation is unusual, featuring a combination of low local interest rates and intense impacts of efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic. In this context, the participants will explore how domestic and international situations can affect different asset classes and allocation decisions.

The webinar will be moderated by FGV EESP professor Jéfferson Colombo. The speakers will be Marcelo Kfoury, the coordinator of FGV EESP’s Center for Macroeconomic Research on Brazil; Clemens Nunes, another FGV EESP professor; and Marcos Mollica, the portfolio manager at Opportunity Total Return.
