Webinar focuses on presidential elections, politics and the economy

Whenever there are presidential elections, hopes for more structural economic reforms and improvements to economic policy practices are renewed. In this context, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics is holding a free online Master Talk on “The Presidential Elections and Economic Policy.” The public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on June 27, at 6 pm.
In the past, governing Brazil has not been an easy task for any candidates who have won the elections, whether on the right, center or left of the political spectrum. Election campaigns have increasingly been based on marketing actions rather than on economic proposals.
These issues will be discussed by Lara Mesquita, the executive coordinator of FGV EESP Clear and a researcher at FGV Cepesp; and Paulo Gala, a professor at FGV EESP and the chief economist at Banco Master. The moderator will be Márcio Holland, the coordinator of FGV’s Finance and Economics Master’s Program.
