Webinar looks at alternatives for basic education during the pandemic
On Thursday, May 7, at 11 am, FGV will launch a series of webinars called “Challenges for Basic Education During the Pandemic.” These events will be held in partnership with the National Council of Education Secretaries (Consed). The first webinar will examine technological mediation focused on education in light of the challenges posed by the coronavirus.
In this context, strategies adopted by state education secretaries, as well as possibilities suggested by sector professionals, will be discussed. The event’s participants will be Cláudio Furtado, the Paraíba state education, science and technology secretary; Pedro Fernandes, the Rio de Janeiro state education secretary; and Graça Moreira, who has a doctorate in education and works as a professor at Sao Paulo Catholic University, researching new education technologies. The moderator will be Professor Tatiana Soster, who has a doctorate in education from Sao Paulo Catholic University and Stanford University. Soster is the coordinator of the public administration undergraduate program at the FGV´s School of Public Policy and Government (FGV EPPG).
The series of webinars will discuss various topics, such as education technologies, methodologies, practices and materials, as well as alternative ways of monitoring and evaluating learning remotely.
