Webinar looks at energy transition and climate change

Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Center for Regulation and Infrastructure Studies (FGV CERI) will hold a webinar called “Energy Transition Dialogues – Episode I” on September 8, at 2 pm, on FGV’s YouTube channel. It will look at the World Energy Transitions Outlook, a report that sets out possible paths for the world to achieve the targets in the Paris Agreement and curb climate change, transforming the global energy system. The document presents options to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5°C and attain CO2 emission neutrality by 2050.

The report also offers high-level insights into technology choices, investment needs, political structures and the socioeconomic impacts of achieving a sustainable, resilient and inclusive energy future.

The webinar will feature Elbia Gannoun, the CEO of ABEEólica; and Ricardo Gorini, renewable energy roadmap senior program officer at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The moderator will be Joisa Dutra, FGV CERI’s director.
