Webinar looks at possible paths for Brazil’s economic recovery
The Brazilian economy was slowly recovering from its crisis in 2015 when the COVID-19 pandemic happened. What are the prospects for economic recovery as collective immunity in Brazil is achieved? What lasting damage will the pandemic cause, which could restrict the possibilities of a stronger and more sustained macroeconomic recovery? What policies are needed for the country to grow faster after the present crisis? May the slow pace of vaccination, shortage of vaccines and risk of a third wave of the novel coronavirus hinder Brazil’s economic recovery? These subjects will be discussed in a webinar called “Paths to Growth,” to be held by FGV IBRE on June 17, 2021, at 10 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel, in partnership with the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.
The moderator will be Pedro Guilherme Costa Ferreira, FGV IBRE’s innovation and markets superintendent. The speakers will be Arnaldo Gomes, FGV IBRE’s technical coordinator; André Braz, FGV IBRE’s consumer price index coordinator; and Ana Maria Castelo, an FGV IBRE researcher and specialist in construction. The event will be broadcast on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The webinar is part of a series of debates held by FGV IBRE and O Estado de S. Paulo, aimed at economists, professionals, researchers, students and other people interested in macroeconomics.
