Workshop discusses funding of sustainable agriculture in Brazil
On November 12, the Low-Carbon Agriculture Observatory at the FGV´s Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) and the Brazilian Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition will hold a Workshop on Sustainable Agriculture Funding in Brazil. The event will take place at FGV EESP, at Rua Itapeva, 474, Bela Vista, Sao Paulo, at 8 am.
The opening remarks will be given by the coordinator of the Center for Agribusiness Studies (FGVAgro), Professor Roberto Rodrigues, and André Guimarães, of the Brazilian Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition and the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM).
After that, teams from FGVAgro and the Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVCes) at the FGV´s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) will present the results of the Low-Carbon Agriculture Program in 2017-18 and 2018-19. André Guimarães will then discuss the Brazilian Climate, Forests and Agriculture Coalition’s proposals and work regarding innovation in agriculture funding.
After these presentations, there will be a panel discussion about sustainable agriculture funding. Eduardo Sampaio (of the Brazilian Agriculture Ministry), Rodrigo Castro (of Solidaridad, a civil society organization), Eduardo Bastos (of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association) and Karine Bueno (of Santander) will debate this subject. The moderator will be Annelise Vendramini (of FGVCes).
