A pioneer in the area of higher education, Fundação Getulio Vargas was the first institution in Latin America to provide bachelor’s courses in public administration and business administration, producing the first batch of qualified administrators on the continent in the mid-1950s in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
Today, besides administration courses in both cities, FGV also offers this course in Brasilia, degrees in law (in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo), economics (in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo), the social sciences (in Rio de Janeiro), applied mathematics (in Rio de Janeiro), international relations (in Sao Paulo), data science (in Rio de Janeiro) and it is a leader in teaching and research in these fields.
