The South America Contemporary Art Biennial (BIENALSUR) is now at FGV, the only place that the exhibition will be hosted in Rio de Janeiro.
The initiative connects 32 cities from 16 countries worldwide, gathers more than 250 artists and curators from all five continents, and establishes a global network to use contemporary art to eliminate distances and borders and promote singularity within diversity.
The exhibit – a series of four installations that refer to a water complex, which includes a trampoline, rest area, lanes, and a locker room – is the result of Marcolina Dipierro’s work. Inspired by the shapes designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the pieces created especially for BIENALSUR by the Argentine artist engage in dialogue with FGV’s Cultural Center.
The exhibit ‘Natatorio’, on the esplanade of FGV’s Cultural Center, can be visited until December 15.
