FGV’s Center for the Development of Mathematics and Science was founded in 2017 with the mission of identifying talented youth at Brazilian public schools, especially non-selective ones, in order to encourage them to do undergraduate and graduate courses at FGV so as to enrich the body of scientists and professionals with advanced qualifications that the country needs.

The center also aims to map excellent non-selective public schools, in line with their performance in Brazilian Ministry of Education ratings and Knowledge Olympiads, in order to contribute to training their professionals, enhancing their school management and preparing their students.
