Amazon Dialogues: Event debates pathways for the region
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) is holding another webinar in the “Amazon Dialogues” series, to debate possible pathways for the region. The event will take place in the FGV 9 de Julho Auditorium in Sao Paulo on October 20, at 9 a.m.
The speakers will be Luiz Frederico Oliveira Aguiar, the executive superintendent of the Manaus Free Trade Zone Agency (SUFRAMA); Paulo Haddad, former planning and finance minister; Luiz Augusto Rocha, chairman of the Amazonas State Center of Industry (CIEAM); Júlio Koga, vice president of Moto Honda da Amazônia; Eduardo Braga, senator and rapporteur for the ongoing tax reform; Bernado Appy, extraordinary secretary for tax reform at the Finance Ministry; Heleno Torres, a professor of law at the University of Sao Paulo; Nelson Machada, the director of the Center for Fiscal Citizenship (CCiF) and a professor at FGV; and Felipe Salto, an economist and former director of the Senate’s Independent Fiscal Institute (IFI).
The event is part of the Amazon Dialogues, a digital platform to discuss topics related to sustainable socioeconomic development in the Brazilian Amazon with the whole of organized civil society.
The webinar will discuss the topics of “Development Visions in the Amazon” and “The Federative Pact, Regional Development and the Amazon.”
