Award honors contribution by civil servants towards Brazil’s development
With the goal of recognizing and awarding relevant contributions by civil servants towards Brazil's Development, Instituto República and Associação Agenda Brasil do Futuro are receiving registrations for the first edition of the Espírito Público [Public Spirit] Award until March 25. Supported by the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Education Policies (CEIPE) of FGV’s Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE), winners of each of the four categories will receive BRL 50,000 and a learning trip to London to visit the British public service institutions.
Participants will compete in the following categories: “Education”; “People, Management & Public Finance”, “Environment”; and “Public Safety”. Each category will feature a jury and a committee of renowned experts, who will assess applicants’ ability to inspire the team and the work environment; their contribution in specific technical areas; and the impact of the results on society, as well as the ability to show resilience and overcome hardships. All levels and branches of power – federal, state or municipal, executive, legislative or judiciary, public enterprises, foundations or autarchies – will be considered, except for individuals currently holding elective positions.
The Director of CEIPE, professor Claudia Costin, will join the award committee, alongside André Macieira (EloGroup), Daniel Gerson (OCDE), Eloy Oliveira (Instituto República), Francisco Gaetani (ENAP), Mariano Lafuente (BID), and Marina Cançado (Agenda Brasil do Futuro). The committee will assess strategic decisions, ensure the coherence of evaluation criteria, and validate the names of jury members and winners.
