BALAS 2024 Annual Conference: Registration now open for international event on innovation ecosystems
New digital and physical technologies are making it possible for startups and established organizations to create new business models, as well as facilitating interaction between partners and the creation of complementary business activities. In this context, the notion of ecosystems is becoming increasingly popular. This year’s Business Association of Latin American Studies (BALAS) Conference will be hosted by the Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) from June 18 to 21, and registration is open until April 30, 2024.
Over the last 10 years, the World Economic Forum has highlighted the central role of innovation ecosystems in fostering economic activity. The BALAS 2024 Conference will provide an academic forum to discuss innovation ecosystems for business development in Latin American contexts, focusing on the region’s specific conditions and solutions.

About BALAS
Founded in 1989, BALAS is the first academic association to focus exclusively on business and economics in Latin America and the Caribbean. Scholars from around the world participate in its annual conference, known for its solid academic standards and for being congenial, open, supportive and fun. In addition to the conference, BALAS produces special edition publications, doctoral consortia, case studies and awards programs.
The objectives of BALAS are to foster education, encourage research and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of Latin American issues that affect the business environment of both domestic and transnational enterprises. Registration
Registration is now open, and you can sign up until the day before the conference. After this time, registrations will be processed manually on-site. Your conference registration will provide you with access to the conference’s general academic and social events. Your registration will also include an individual BALAS membership (valid until December 31). The promotional rate will only be available until May 15.
Schools that are institutional members of BALAS receive free registration for the annual conference. Therefore, individuals attending the conference as their school’s designated institutional member are welcome to register free of charge. Please email balas@balas.org if your school or institution has not received its complementary registration code (to be sent approximately 60 days before the conference) or if you have any questions.
