Brazilian Computer Society appoints FGV professor for its Special Committee

Alexandre Rademaker, professor at FGV?s School of Applied Mathematics (EMAp), was appointed member of the Special Committee for Natural Language Processing (CEPLN) of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). The area is responsible for seeking solutions related to the automation of human language interpretation and generation in applications such as machine translation, automatic text summarization, helping tools for writing, Q&A, text categorization, information retrieval and extraction.One of the main tasks of the CEPLN is to organize two traditional conferences on Natural Language Processing (NLP) for the Portuguese language: Symposium in Information and Human Language Technology (STIL) and PROPOR - International Conference on the Computational Processing of Portuguese, which will take place in Portugal.SBC is a scientific society that brings together Computing and Information Technology students, professors and professionals throughout Brazil to encourage computing related research and teaching.
