The event titled #EducaçãoJá Dialogs - Proposals for the State of Rio de Janeiro will be held at FGV’s Cultural Center (Praia de Botafogo, 186. Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro/RJ) as part of the non-partisan initiative Educação Já, led by Todos Pela Educação and supported by CEIPE. The initiative sets seven measures to advance education in the next few years.
The meeting will include candidates Anthony Garotinho (PRP), Índio da Costa (PSD), Romário de Souza Faria (Podemos), and Tarcísio Motta (PSOL). Candidate Eduardo Paes (DEM) chose to be represented by his lieutenant governor candidate, Comte Bittencourt (PPS).
The opening ceremony will be held by a representative from Todos Pela Educação, who will introduce the seven measures to the candidates and the audience. Next, the director of CEIPE, Claudia Costin, will draw an overview of the current scenario in the state of Rio. Candidates will then have 12 minutes to talk about their proposals in this particular field. After the presentations, they will answer questions made by Veja journalist Monica Weinberg. Finally, each candidate will have three minutes to make their final statements.
“The state of Rio has the second highest GDP in Brazil and its education numbers are far below the state’s true potential. It is crucial for society to understand each candidate’s proposals to turn this scenario around”, said CEIPE director Claudia Costin.
