CEO of Caixa talks about state-owned bank’s strategies
The CEO of Caixa Econômica Federal, Pedro Duarte Guimarães, will give a talk on “Caixa’s Strategy” on October 23, at 3 pm, in the 12th-floor auditorium in FGV’s main building (Praia de Botafogo, 190, Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro). The event, organized by the FGV´s EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE), is part of a series titled “Contemporary Topics,” which is aimed at discussing key issues on the domestic and international development agenda. The talk will be moderated by FGV EPGE’s dean, Professor Rubens Penha Cysne.
Guimarães was appointed Caixa’s CEO at the beginning of 2019. He has an undergraduate degree in economics from Rio de Janeiro Catholic University, a master’s in economics from FGV EPGE and a PhD in economics from the University of Rochester, New York. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial markets. He has coordinated many capital market operations, including IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, besides advising on corporate restructurings. He is a former board member of Terra Brasis Resseguros and Eólicas do Sul.
