Commercial relations between Brazil and Japan are theme of webinar
On March 10, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ School of International Relations and Japan House São Paulo will hold a free webinar about commercial relations between Brazil and Japan. This is the second edition of Doing Business with Japan, as part of a partnership between the two institutions. The event will be broadcast on FGV’s YouTube channel, starting at 2 pm.
A talk will be given by Silvio Miyazaki, a professor of economics at the University of São Paulo. The moderators will be Pedro Brites, the deputy coordinator of the International Relations Course at the FGV School of International Relations and Luana Margarete Geiger, an assistant researcher at the school.
Miyazaki has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of São Paulo, another bachelor’s degree in administration from FGV EAESP and a master’s in public administration, also from FGV EAESP. He also has a doctorate in economics from FGV EESP, which involved doing research at the Graduate School of Economics at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo. He is a former visiting researcher at Harvard University, George Washington University, the University of Tokyo, Kobe University, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Developing Economies of the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Investment in Tokyo.
The guest is the author of various articles about east Asian integration and the Japanese economy. His book, “The Origins of Japanese Investment in Asia: A Study of the Period Before the Second World War,” was published in 2009. He is also the co-organizer of “Regional Economic Integration,” a book published in 2013.
