Conference in New York brings together retail professionals from around the world

From January 11 to 16, the Center for Retailing Excellence (FGVcev) at the FGV´s Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) will participate in NRF Retail’s Big Show, the largest and longest-running retail event in the world, in New York. The event, which is attended every year by Brazilian retailers, is now on its 109th edition, and the organizers expect to beat last year’s attendance of 38,000.

During the conference, FGVcev will run a special series of activities, in which participants will be able to count on the experience of FGV EAESP professors who have been leading delegations to NRF for 20 years. FGVcev’s 2020 Light NRF Program will include an opening seminar on trends and keys to success in retail, as well as explanations about NRF.

The delegation that FGVcev will take to New York in 2020 will contain 150 participants. The group is mainly composed of CEOs and directors of retailers, among other executives working in strategic functions in their organizations.

Daily wrap-up meetings will also be held, to discuss the talks’ main points. The participants will also have the opportunity to choose between two technical visits with FGVcev professors. One of these visits will introduce them to retailers in locations such as Times Square, Downtown, Fifth Avenue, Chelsea, Brooklyn and SoHo. The other visit will involve large supermarket chains in Manhattan, Upper Broadway, Woodbridge and Yonkers.

On February 5, FGVcev will hold a post-NRF event in Sao Paulo. This will be an opportunity for those working in the sector who are unable to participate in the conference to learn about main retail trends. To stay informed about FGV’s participation in NRF, click here.
