Conference in Palestine discusses role of Public Administration in post-conflict States
FGV’s International Director and President of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), professor Bianor Cavalcanti, attended the IASIA-MENAPAR 2017 conference. The event was organized by IASIA and the Middle East & North Africa Public Administration Research Network (MENAPAR), in partnership with the General Personnel Council (GPC), and brought together professionals, scholars, PhD students, and young public administration researchers, as well as collaborators from other disciplines from 33 countries, who discussed ‘The role of Public Administration in the construction and consolidation of post-conflict states,’ among other topics of relevance to public administration.
The joint IASIA-MENAPAR 2017 conference, chaired by professor Cavalcanti, also featured Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, representing the President of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
During the event, it was announced that IASIA and the Latin American Group for Public Administration (LAGPA), in close collaboration with the National Civil Service Authority (SERVIR) and Sedes Sapientiae Catholic University of Peru, will organize the joint IASIA-LAGPA 2018 conference to be held on July 23-26, 2018, in Lima, under the theme ‘Globalization, Territories, and Integration.’
