The Confidence Index of the Construction Sector (ICST), calculated by the Brazilian Institute of Economics (IBRE/FGV), changed from -4.3% for the quarter ending in October, compared to the same period of the previous year. Although it remained negative, the result represents a favorable evolution after changes of -4.6% in September and 4.7% in August.Given the monthly inter-annual comparison, the recovery of the ICST was more expressive: between October 2012 and October this year, the change was -2.9 %, compared to -4.6% in September.According to the institute, the overall result of the survey reflects the improvement expectations for the business environment in the industry throughout the fourth quarter of 2013.For more information about the index, please click here (in Portuguese)
