COP 29: Event debates conclusions of Bonn Climate Meeting
Among other things, webinar will discuss the direct impacts on Brazilian conditions, as Congress considers several bills to create a national regulated carbon market
The Center for Agribusiness Studies (FGVAgro) is holding a webinar called “Conclusions of the Bonn Climate Meeting – Toward COP 29,” on July 8, starting at 6 p.m. It will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel.
The event will shed light on the main events and results of the recent meeting held in Bonn, which was a preparatory event for the COP 29 climate conference in Baku. The Bonn meeting negotiated some important aspects related to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, a global mechanism for carbon, climate finance and adaptive capacity.
The webinar will discuss subjects with a direct impact on Brazilian reality, as Congress evaluates several bills to create a national regulated carbon market and the authorities
consider how to deal with climate disasters such as the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul.
The moderator will be Leonardo Munhoz, a researcher at FGVAgro and the FGV Bioeconomy Observatory. The speakers will be Rodrigo Lima, managing partner at Agroicone; and Renata Potenza, a specialist in climate and emissions at the Institute for Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification (Imaflora).
