DIREITO RIO discusses regulation in telecommunications in Dubai

A researcher at the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) of DIREITO RIO, Joana Varon, is in Dubai for the World Conference on International Telecommunications. Among the main topics of discussion are the International Telecommunication Regulations - ITRs. The conference (organized by the International Telecommunication Union - ITU) is controversial because it proposes changes in the regulation of cyber security and network neutrality on the Internet - issues commonly absent from the debates on telecommunications.
