EBAPE students meet Warren Buffett in the United States
Students of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE), Marianna Miele and Daniela Martins, were selected for the program Face to face with Warren Buffett, held from January 29 to February 4, in the United States. The selection process attracted over 600 submissions from various educational institutions, resulting in a group of 18 students who met and followed the routine of one of the greatest business executives in the world.
Warren Buffett managed to humanize the practice of mergers and acquisitions in the financial markets far beyond the margin gain between the buying and selling of assets. He seemed to be an extremely intelligent, and very humble man with quick thinking, said Daniela.
Marianna and Daniela visited several U.S. companies in Omaha (Nebraska, in the USA) and attended a session of questions and answers, followed by lunch with Warren Buffett. In the program, there was also a trip to New York, which included visiting the Federal Reserve Bank and financial market companies.
The creator of the program, Marcelo Salim, said that the main purpose of this project was to select young people who have attitude and the desire to see a better Brazil and work hard to change it. According to the FGV/EBAPE students, the program brought a different worldview and expanded their expectations in many aspects.
The program made me rethink the planning of my professional life and the path I will follow hereafter. I never imagined I would have access to something like that during my undergraduate studies. I am proud to be part of an institution that cares about my development and I feel honored to have been able to represent it abroad, concluded Marianna.
