EBAPE welcomes the director of the Slum Observatory

The Center for Behavioral Research (CBR) of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) will hold tomorrow, December 4th, a meeting that will discuss the history and research developed by Observatório de Favelas (Slum Observatory) - a social organization dedicated to knowledge production and policy proposals on urban phenomena. The event, organized by professors Rafael Goldszmidt and Eduardo Andrade, will be attended by the PhD in Sociology, UFF professor and director of Observatório de Favelas, Jailson de Souza e Silva. He will talk about his daily life with topics such as Urban Policy, Education, Communication, Culture and Human Rights. The cooperation project between CBR and Observatório de Favelas is aimed at better understanding the behavior and decision making in the context of shanty towns, explains Rafael Goldszmidt.CBR's fortnightly meetings - whose research has an interdisciplinary nature and seeks to bridge the gap between, on the one hand, universities, and the other, companies, the government and society - have been discussing ideas for research projects in their initial phase, and they are open to master's and doctoral students and EBAPE's faculty. Jailson's presentation will take place at 10 am, at FGV's main office in Botafogo. To sign up, please click here (available only in Portuguese).
