EMAp and FGV Management launch Big Data course

The School of Applied Mathematics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (EMAp), in partnership with FGV Management, will offer the course Big Data Analytics Update, aimed at managers, businesspeople, and IT professionals with a mathematics background.  Merging theory and practice, the course presents a condensate of the main algorithms and technologies used by Internet giants like Google, Facebook and Amazon to extract value from Big Data - a term created in 2010 to describe a set of technologies and algorithms required to store and process any amount of data, analyze them, visualize and interpret results according to business goals. Leading tools, such as softwares Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, Oracle Data Mining, SAS Text Miner Desktop and IBM SPSS Statistics will also be available. The course, conducted in Portuguese, will begin on September 2nd, with classes on Mondays and Tuesdays. Click below and learn more (in Portuguese): http://emap.fgv.br/blog/2013/08/05/curso-big-data-analytics.html
