EPGE professor and former student have studies awarded by ANPEC

The Professor of FGV/EPGE - Graduate School of Economics, Felipe Saraiva Iachan and former master's student, Cristian Huse, were awarded in the two existing categories of the Haralambos Simeonidis Award - the most important Economics award in Brazil.

The Professor of FGV/EPGE - Graduate School of Economics, Felipe Saraiva Iachan and former master's student, Cristian Huse, were awarded in the two existing categories of the Haralambos Simeonidis Award - the most important Economics award in Brazil.Iachan, who was rewarded for his doctoral thesis Essays in macroeconomics: liquidity and taxation, graduated in the first graduating class of the School and also completed his Masters at EPGE, which he left to attend a doctorate degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  In 2012, Iachan returned to the School as a member of the faculty.Whereas Cristian Huse - former student of FGV/EPGE in 2003 - was the prize winner in the Best Academic Article category for his work The market impact and the cost of environmental policy: evidence from the Swedish green car rebate, which he co-authored with Claudio Lucinda, of the University of São Paulo (USP).The award?s evaluation committee was composed by professors Bernardo Guimarães, from São Paulo School of Economics (FGV/EESP); Claudio Ferraz, from PUC-RJ, Ivan Targino, from PPGE-CCSA/UFPB; Marcos de Almeida Rangel, from USP - IPE and Reynaldo Fernandes, from USP/RP.Created in 1982 in honor of Haralambos Simeonidis - economist who studied at UFRGS and post-graduated at Ohio State University -, the prize is awarded annually by the National Association of Centers of Graduate Studies of Economics (ANPEC) to the best academic article and Ph.D. thesis in Economics, written by economists affiliated to Brazilian institutions.
