The Professional Master’s program of FGV’s Sao Paulo Law School (Direito SP) will gather professors, students, alumni and the legal community for its first annual meeting on August 31, starting at 2:30 p.m. Held at the FGV 9 de Julho Auditorium (Rua Itapeva, 432 – ground floor, Bela Vista, Sao Paulo/SP), the event provides a unique opportunity to promote legal research studies by students since the program began.
The event will be divided into two parts: the authors of the best term papers in the Business Law and Tax Law research tracks will present them in the afternoon. The papers to be presented were selected by faculty advisors and the program’s coordinators, with the assistance of external evaluators, both scholars and professionals. The award ceremony for the best papers will start at 6:30 p.m.
The Professional Master's students in the Business Law research track focused on issues such as the banking ombudsman and conflicts between banks and customers; the Endowment asset funds; repairing damages from cartels and the possibility of a contractual limitation of liability for intent, among others. The Tax Law research track included subjects such as the contributions of intervention in the economic domain; transfer pricing; tax corporate governance and the tax liability of economic groups, among others.
Sponsored by the firms Bergamini Collucci Advogados, Bichara Advogados, Pinheiro Neto, Salusse Marangoni Advogados, TozziniFreire and Trench Rossi Watanabe, the first edition of the Professional Master's annual meeting is a venue through which the legal community can discuss relevant legal issues with practical consequences.
