This public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on May 27, starting at 6 p.m.
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP) and the Nucleus for Fiscal Studies at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School are holding a webinar to explain Brazil’s new tax system. This public event will be livestreamed on FGV’s YouTube channel on May 27, starting at 6 p.m.
The federal government recently submitted its proposed tax reform regulations to Congress. Brazil will therefore soon have to live with new taxes and regimes, including a “sin tax,” tax breaks on basic food items, a “cashback” system for low-income families, split payments and a Management Committee, among many other changes. Accordingly, this webinar will discuss these new tax arrangements, focusing on what Brazilians should pay attention to in relation to these new taxes and their calculation systems.
The speakers will be Eurico Marcos Diniz de Santi, a professor at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School and the coordinator of its Nucleus for Fiscal Studies; Melina Rocha, an Inter-American Development Bank consultant; and José Maria Arruda de Andrade, a professor at the University of Sao Paulo Law School.
The moderator will be Márcio Holland, a professor at FGV EESP, the coordinator of its Master’s Program and a columnist for Broadcast/Agência Estado.
