Event to discuss study on online disinformation in 2022 elections
The Center for Education and Research in Innovation (CEPI) at Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Sao Paulo Law School is holding a webinar called “Online disinformation in the 2022 elections: appraisal following the first round – how have the electoral courts been tackling the problem of online disinformation in the 2022 elections?” The event will take place on October 10, at 10 am, on FGV’s YouTube channel.
During the event, the results of a study called “2022 Elections Online Disinformation Observatory,” up to the first round of the elections, will be presented. This project is being conducted by CEPI and the Center for Competition, Public Policy, Innovation and Technology Research (Compitt), which is also based at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School. The webinar will discuss election rules related to fake news and their application by the courts. The event will take a critical look at these rules’ principles, objectives and results.
The speakers will be Professor Caio Mário da Silva Pereira Neto, Compitt’s coordinator; Professor Alexandre Pacheco da Silva, CEPI’s coordinator; and three other professors at the FGV Sao Paulo Law School, Clarissa Piterman Gross, Rubens Glezer and Raquel Scalcon.
