According to FGV president Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, the course will strengthen FGV’s relationship with ECEME and the Brazilian Army
Last week, FGV In Company initiated an international edition of its Executive MBA in Administration: Political and Strategic Studies, in partnership with the Army Command and General Staff School (ECEME). The inaugural class was taught by the president of Fundação Getulio Vargas, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, at the premises of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) in Rio de Janeiro.
The aim of the course is to develop and expand knowledge in the areas of politics, strategy, geopolitics and international relations, applicable in complex organizational contexts and subject to continuous change, with a focus on national defense. The class is made up of military officers from Brazil, Indonesia, Guatemala and Nigeria.
The program has a total workload of 470 hours (200 taught by FGV and 270 by ECEME), including several visits and trips in Brazil. According to Professor Simonsen Leal, the course will strengthen FGV’s relationship with ECEME and the Brazilian Army, as well as contributing to international relations in the military field.
“Fundação Getulio Vargas, through the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE), is coordinating and certifying this course, which we consider to be strategic in terms of promoting world peace and projecting the power of Brazil and FGV itself. This training, which began on July 16 and will run until November, includes modules on Politics, Future Prospects, International Relations, Geopolitics, Strategy and Economics, taught by renowned FGV professors and visiting professors,” said Professor Nivaldo Leitão Machado, the course’s coordinator at FGV.
Colonel Marcos Antonio Soares de Melo, the course’s coordinator at ECEME, stressed the importance of FGV’s teaching work, the quality of its PhD professors and the up-to-date content – factors that raise the level of the course and its acceptance by the students.
