FGV and Brazilian Foreign Ministry launch G20 Student Volunteering Program
Program has 240 students from 10 FGV schools, divided into 32 sectors of activity; each sector is led by a Brazilian diplomat, who will provide specific training and guide the student volunteers
Fundação Getulio Vargas, in partnership with the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, recently launched the G20 FGV Student Volunteering Program. More than 300 FGV students have signed up for the initiative, which offers them a unique opportunity to participate in the most significant event in Brazilian diplomacy in recent decades. In October and November, the selected students will provide logistical, operational and administrative support to representatives of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, especially during the summit of heads of state and government, which will take place on November 18 and 19 at Rio de Janeiro Modern Art Museum.
The program kicked off on October 2, when the Brazilian Foreign Ministry held a training event for the volunteers. The opening session was attended by FGV’s international director, Marlos Lima, and presentations were given by Carlos Villanova, the organizational and logistics coordinator of the Brazilian G20 presidency at the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, deputy coordinator João Montenegro, and diplomats Felipe Hees and Sous Sherpa. The event brought together 81 students from Rio de Janeiro and more than 70 from Sao Paulo, who participated online.
In all, 240 students from 10 FGV schools were selected to take part in the program, divided into 32 sectors. Each sector is led by a Brazilian diplomat, who will provide specific training and guidance to the student volunteers, ensuring that they are prepared to perform their duties with excellence. This experience will not only enrich the participants’ resumes, but also strengthen Brazil’s role on the international stage while highlighting FGV’s commitment to training leaders capable of tackling global challenges.
