FGV and FAPESP collaborate to strengthen research support
Fundação Getulio Vargas and Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) have signed a cooperation agreement to support the development of research studies. Formalized by the institutions’ presidents, professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal (FGV) and professor José Goldemberg (FAPESP) on November 30, the purpose of the partnership is to support the development of research across all fields of knowledge for the next five years.
“FGV’s mission is to help promote national socioeconomic development. One of our main areas of research is the assessment of public policies, which is in high demand in our society”, said FGV’s president.
The partnership will broaden the array of funding alternatives for research projects led by FGV professors, while also fostering scientific cooperation and the development of national and international researcher networks. This is the first time FAPESP enters into this kind of partnership with a research institution in Brazil. After its announcement to a wide range of institutions and researchers in Brazil and abroad, the partnership will significantly contribute towards maintaining FGV’s position as an institution of excellence in the field of research.
In addition to professor Leal, FGV was represented by the deans and directors of its Schools and Units. FAPESP, in turn, was also represented by its Vice President, Eduardo Moacyr Krieger, and other directors.
