FGV and Qatari foundation sign research agreement
Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and Qatar’s Education Above All Foundation (EAA) have signed a cooperation agreement to carry out research and studies focusing on the education of school-age children and young people who are not attending school or are in socially vulnerable situations. The work will cover Latin America, particularly Brazil. The results will be shared with public managers and education professionals.
The agreement was signed during a series of activities to mark the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, held in Doha in the presence of heads of state, education professionals and experts from around the world. FGV’s actions will be coordinated by its Division for the Development of Public Management and Educational Policies (FGV DGPE). The cooperation agreement was signed by FGV DGPE’s superintendent for business and international relations, Emílio Munaro, and the CEO of EAA, Fahad Al-Sulaiti.
About EAA
Education Above All, a private foundation set up in 2012 by Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, supports projects aimed at promoting human, social and economic development in 60 countries. In Brazil, its partnership with FGV was formalized in October 2023 with the signing of a cooperation agreement to exchange information and knowledge in the field of education. In November, FGV DGPE was invited to join the Educational Public Policy Observatory, announced by EAA during the 11th WISE Summit, which brought together education specialists to discuss “Creative Fluency: Human Flourishing in the Age of AI.”
Ongoing partnership
In Doha, FGV DGPE and Education Above All also worked on planning a seminar called “Catalyzing Change: The Role of Education in Building a Just and Sustainable Future in Line with G20 Priorities in Brazil,” which is being organized in partnership with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD). This event will be held in FGV’s main building in Rio de Janeiro on November 19, as part of a series of parallel events alongside the G20 Summit. The seminar seeks to reinforce the role of education in addressing issues such as climate change and public health, helping achieve the goals of the G20 summit.
