FGV and Rio state government form partnership to support DEGASE’s management processes
Collaboration to take place through FGV Projetos, FGV’s technical consulting arm
On October 9, Fundação Getulio Vargas and the Rio de Janeiro State Education Secretariat’s General Department for Socio-Educational Actions (DEGASE) launched a partnership aimed at supporting management excellence in the sector. The project includes the participatory development of the department’s Strategic Plan for 2025-2028. At the present stage, interviews are being held with DEGASE managers to diagnose the current situation and identify the main strategic challenges for the coming years. Training courses will also be held for the department’s employees and processes considered critical to fulfilling its institutional mission will be optimized.
During “DEGASE at the G20,” an event held at the Laura Alvim Cultural Center in Rio on October 9, the department presented its main projects and activities to society, and a space was set aside in the program for FGV to discuss the DEGASE Modernization and Management Excellence Project. Conducted by the project’s executive manager, Dr. Alexis Vargas, and by the project’s coordinator, Dr. Vera Corrêa, the presentation emphasized the importance of the work and engagement of DEGASE’s managers, who are confident of an effective outcome that can contribute to the social education of the young people served by the department.
On October 10, DEGASE’s general director, Victor Poubel, met with the president of FGV, Dr. Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, together with the executive director of FGV Projetos, Dr. Luiz Carlos Duque, to discuss details of this important public policy, which is cross-cutting and extremely important for the state of Rio de Janeiro.
