FGV and the World Bank disclose report on accounting standards in Brazil

Fundação Getulio Vargas and the World Bank will hold, on December 11th, a seminar to disclose the Report on the Observance of Accounting and Auditing Standards and Codes (ROSC A&A), produced by the World Bank based on data relating to the 2012 Brazilian scenario.The event will encourage reflection on the Implementation Plan of the recommendations presented by the report, such as the tax law amendment and the need to strengthen the accounting teaching in higher education institutions, and present the panorama of standards compliance in the country. The World Bank report also provides a detailed analysis of the accounting policies in Brazil, and evaluates whether they follow international accounting guidelines, explains FGV's Professor Ricardo Lopes Cardoso. He coordinates the event together with FGV's international manager, Professor Eduardo Marques, and the World Bank's operations adviser in Brazil, Boris Utria.The debates will be mediated by the journalist of Valor Econômico, Fernando Torres, and they will be attended by representatives of the World Bank, FGV, the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the Institute of Independent Auditors of Brazil (Ibracon), the Superintendence of Private Insurances (Susep), the Brazilian Association of Open Capital Companies (Abrasca), BM&FBovespa, Serasa, Sebrae, the National Federation of Accounting Services and Business Consulting, Inspection, Information and Research (Fenacon), and the presence of Durval Soledade (of Motta, Fernandes Rocha office), the legislative consultant, Mark Kohler, and USP professor, Eliseu Martins. The seminar is open to the public and will take place in the auditorium on the 12th floor of FGV's main offices, in Rio de Janeiro.
