The municipal government has confirmed that Mayor Eduardo Paes will also be attending the ceremony.
Fundação Getulio Vargas’ Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) is set to receive the Pedro Ernesto Medal of Merit, the highest honor bestowed by the city of Rio de Janeiro. The award will be presented by the president of the City Council, Councilor Carlo Caiado, in recognition of the services provided by FGV EPGE to the city of Rio. The municipal government has confirmed that Mayor Eduardo Paes will also be attending the ceremony.
Created in 1980, the Pedro Ernesto Medal of Merit is the main honor granted by Rio de Janeiro’s municipal councilors to people and organizations that have played an outstanding role in Brazilian or international society.
“One of FGV EPGE’s missions is to train professionals capable of policy formulation, analysis and financial administration, whether for public or private sector organizations. In this context, the school is honored by this recognition of the success of this mission from the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, in which many of its former students have played prominent roles,” says Professor Rubens Penha Cysne, the dean of FGV EPGE.
The award ceremony will take place on May 22, 2023, at 2 pm, in the FGV Cultural Center, at 186 Praia de Botafogo, Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.
