FGV EPGE student receives ANBIMA prize in Master’s category
Leonid Garnitskiy, an academic master’s course student at the FGV´s EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE), won the Master’s category in this year’s ANBIMA Capital Markets Awards, held by the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Entities (ANBIMA). Garnitskiy was recognized for his paper titled “Monitoring of Brazilian Inflation Using Machine Learning Techniques,” written under the guidance of Professor João Victor Issler.
The objective of the ANBIMA Capital Market Awards is to encourage academic output about the sector among master’s and PhD students, supporting research on subjects of relevance to the development of the capital markets and financial intermediation in Brazil, in the areas of economics, business administration and law.
Participants submit their papers when they are still in the planning stage. The chosen students receive a cash payment to fund the development of their research. As well as this monetary prize, the winners receive a certificate. The final papers are posted on ANBIMA’s website.
