FGV In Company has signed a contract with the Bahia State Docks Company (CODEBA) to run an MBA program in port management – the first of its kind in Brazil. The contract was signed at a ceremony on March 12, in FGV’s main building in Rio de Janeiro, attended by some senior FGV representatives and major names in the sector, including:

  • Clovis de Faro, vice president, FGV
  • Antonio Gobbo, CEO, CODEBA
  • João Lins, executive director, FGV In Company
  • Roberto Levier, academic coordinator, Executive MBA in Port Management Program
  • Marcus Quintella, executive director, FGV Transport
  • Rodrigo Paiva, professor, Executive MBA in Port Management Program
  • Luciano Ferreira, consultant, FGV Transport

“It’s a great pleasure to be here today. The MBA in Port Management Program may set the benchmark in this field in Brazil,” said Marcus Quintela, the executive director of FGV Transport.

According to CODEBA’s CEO, Antonio Gobbo, the company seeks to constantly improve the services it provides, and it made complete sense to turn to FGV to develop this project. “FGV is the best partner we could have for developing and qualifying our professionals", he said.

João Lins, the executive director of FGV In Company, highlighted the course’s importance due to its innovative nature and content, designed in line with the reality of port management in Brazil. He also highlighted the profile of the teaching staff, who have extensive professional experience in the sector as well as excellent academic backgrounds. The professors were selected by FGV Transport’s Marcus Quintela and Roberto Levier, the academic coordinator of the Executive MBA in Port Management Program.

Luiz Humberto Lisboa, CODEBA’s director of port management and a student on the course, highlighted the training opportunity that the program will provide for the company.

“It’s an honor to take part in this MBA in Port Management Program. Our company is already well versed in the subject, but this kind of exchange of experience is always very valuable. Our class is enjoying it a lot and exchanging a lot of experiences. Our participation has been very positive,” he said.
